Skiing/Snowboarding Packing List
Time on the slopes comes with a lot of gear, but you don’t have to own all of it. Skis, snowboards, boots, and even helmets can usually be rented at the resort, so this list covers everything whether you rent or bring your own. When you create a trip from this list, you can remove or add your own items.
Some considerations
- Layers matter more than any single piece of clothing. Skip cotton, since it holds moisture and makes you cold. Wool and synthetics are your friends.
- Cold drains batteries quickly. Keep your phone in an inside pocket and bring a small power bank.
- If you’re heading into the backcountry, a beacon, shovel, and probe are the minimum, and they’re only useful if you’ve practiced with them and have avalanche training.
- Pack dry clothes and warm shoes to change into after your last run.
