MCP Server

Wander List has an MCP server, so you can plan a trip and build the packing list without leaving Claude or ChatGPT. Ask your assistant about an upcoming trip and it can look up, create, or update your trips and packing lists right in the conversation.

Before you start

You need two things before connecting an assistant:

  1. A Wander List account, so the MCP server can authenticate as you. Create one at go.wander-list.app/login if you don't have one yet.
  2. The server URL: https://mcp.wander-list.app

Connect to Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop connects to remote MCP servers like Wander List's from its settings. Follow Anthropic's guide to adding an MCP server and, when it asks for the server URL, enter https://mcp.wander-list.app. You'll be prompted to sign in with your Wander List account the first time you use a tool.

Connect to Claude Code

If you use Claude Code, add Wander List as a project or user-scoped MCP server following Anthropic's Claude Code MCP docs, using https://mcp.wander-list.app as the server URL.

Connect to ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects to custom MCP servers through Developer Mode:

  1. Log in to ChatGPT, click your profile in the sidebar, and open Settings.
  2. Go to Connectors (or Apps), open Advanced Settings, and turn on Developer Mode.
  3. Under Apps (or Plugins), select Create (or the + button) to add a new custom connector.
  4. Give it a name (for example, "Wander List"), and paste https://mcp.wander-list.app as the server URL.
  5. Choose OAuth as the authentication type, select Scan Tools, and confirm you trust the connector. You'll sign in with your Wander List account to finish.
  6. Start a new chat, select the Wander List connector from the tools menu, and ask it about a trip.
